A satisfying morning.
\nBegan with an early cardio session at the gym.
\nFollowed by\u00a0a planting session in the garden.
\nLast weekend I had acquired quite a few more hellebore and some grape hyacinths which I was over the moon about as they have been rather hard to find.
\nI had an hour up my sleeve plus there was rain forecast so I decided to plant them.
\nWhen I planned this garden I had not thought of hellebore but I am so delighted to have gathered such\u00a0a wonderful selection – they should\u00a0be absolutely beautiful next season.
\nI have surrounded the young weeping maple with them so the colour contrast should be stunning.\"img_0579\"
\nI spread the grape hyacinths into three areas\u00a0and as there were a lot of teeny tiny bulbs in each container I should have a heap to move around next year.
\nNow grow my darlings, grow.
\nGrow strong and grow gorgeous and grow colourful.
\nI love my little kiwi \ud83d\ude42
\nHe looks so at home amongst the Chatham Island Forget-Me-Nots which are flowering beautifully.
\nThey are doing so well I bought a few more \ud83d\ude42\"img_0582\"

\nI must find a neater way to leave my hose, but we haven\u2019t had enough rain over the past months to allow me to put it away.
\nI guess once the gardens get more established I won\u2019t need to water\u00a0them as much.

\nAnd this wonderful splash of brightness below them.

I’ve also had some fun pruning back the lemon tree.
\nUnfortunately this area seems prone to scale on the citrus trees and I need to give this wonderful gnarly old thing another spray as it is covered in it again.
\nIt was a good reason to thin out the branches again though as it had really bounced back from my initial pruning session.

\nIt was very pleasing to see some new growth on this abutilon.
\nI was given it a few months ago and had to cut it back really hard to fit it in my car and I thought I might have killed it.
\nBut this is very promising \ud83d\ude42

\nAnd over in the back corner some Choisya ternata<\/a> is doing very well.
\n\"img_0574\"<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not one that wants to spend all my time in the garden working.
\nBut I have been enjoying the planning and the landscaping.
\nI\u2019m wanting\u00a0to create a garden fitting the age and style of the house.
\nUltimately it is\u00a0helping to restore my soul.
\nFilling my artistic needs as I\u00a0use it as my canvas.
\nMost of the plants I am choosing to plant have a special place in my heart.<\/p>\n

I’d stay in the garden with him
\nThough the night around me is falling
\nBut He bids me go through the voice of woe
