For the past months I have been dreading my birthday with a feeling of totally denial and depression.
\nI just couldn\u2019t get my head around the approaching number.
\nI seemed daunting and depressive.
\nIt felt incredibly old.<\/p>\n

But I have now made it to that number.
\nIn fact I am now 3 weeks older and I am absolutely rocking life.
\nI am loving where I am at.
\nIt\u2019s a fabulous place to be.<\/p>\n

I never planned a party, discouraged any form of celebration
\nJust wanted to be in total denial
\nBut now….
\nI have moved my mindset into a much more positive direction.<\/p>\n

Life is just one big party and I plan to continue it on for months
\nMaybe even till the next number rolls around \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I have felt\u00a0incredibly cherished & honoured\u00a0by all the greetings sent to me from all over the world.
\nIt has really made me realise and appreciate how much love there is
\nThank you everyone –\u00a0each and everyone of my\u00a0precious friends\u00a0I hold you close in my heart and treasure you all.
\nI look back on my years and love how much I have been blessed by so many people
\nNo matter how long the season that you were part of\u00a0my life you\u00a0have wedged yourselves\u00a0firmly into my heart
\nFriendship is\u00a0indeed the privilege and joy\u00a0of a long life<\/p>\n

Just to prove that I am weathering the storm of age relatively well at this point Eilidh took a few birthday photos.
\n\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

My celebration\u00a0began gently with a lovely lunch for two with Renata at The Boatshed<\/a>.
\nPerfect
\nAll I could cope with on the day
\n\"\"\"\"\"\"
\nI then slept the rest of my\u00a0day away.<\/p>\n

The next day however I was fully recovered – well nearly….
\nAnd I hit the ground running – well almost – with the help of some Panadine \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

We started the party with lunch at Lambrettas with Martin & Sylvia.
\nAzzan was able to join us which was wonderful.\"\"
\nSarah & Eilidh made up the rest of the party.
\n\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

After lunch Sarah & I took ourselves off to the movies.
\nSaw \u2018Whiskey Galore<\/a>\u2019 – great movie.
\nLots of laughs and a few tears.<\/p>\n

I wasn’t allowed to wear my corset\u00a0to lunch!
\nAzzan reckons I’m having a midlife crisis
\nAnd that the words ‘sexy mama’ shouldn’t be used in the same sentence
\nLove my lad\u00a0😂
\n\"\"<\/span><\/span>
\nSo I had to come home and put it on later for evening attire\u00a0– when it was apparently more appropriate.
\nAzzan thinks it’s too much for Nelson. He often thinks I’m too much for Nelson\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

And on that note Eilidh, Sarah and I hit the big town of Nelson and started our evening out at the Sprig & Fern.
\nOn Sarah\u2019s recommendation we attacked a bottle of\u00a0Giesen Classic Cuve\u00e9
\nIt went down extremely well
\nI\u2019ve never been a wine drinker, but under the expert tutelage of Renata. Eddie & Sarah I am beginning to find a few I enjoy.
\n\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

The next stop was the cinema
\nWe had booked to see\u00a0‘Collateral Beauty\u2019
\nIt was a really lovely movie
\nShoshannah was convinced I should\u2019ve shed a few tears\u00a0during it but I didn\u2019t – sorry Shanni
\nI found it intriguing, fascinating, moving and thought provoking.
\nThe best thing of all was we got to have chocolate dipped ice cream
\nIsn\u2019t that the absolute best thing about attending a movie \ud83d\ude09
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

It was a bit of a wet murky night so we opted to pop around the corner and suss out Rhythm & Brown
\nDiscovered that ‘Not Bruce Willis\u2019 was playing so ordered ourselves a cheese board and some glasses of ros\u00e9 and chilled for a while.
\nThere was a lovely relaxing vibe\u00a0going on so we rolled with it
\n\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Later in\u00a0the\u00a0night we went for a wander down the street to suss out what else was happening in town.
\nWe were making\u00a0it our business to find as much live music as we could.
\nFinal bar of the night – Vic Brew Bar<\/a>
\nListened to ‘Jack in the Box\u2019 until the end of the night
\nThey were great
\nSaint Clair\u2019s Gew\u00fcrztraminer with hot fries was a perfect ending to the night
\n\"\"
\nEilidh was fascinated with the lights – they do have some pretty funky lighting in there!!
\n\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

All in all a wonderful evening
\nLoads of laughs
\nGood company
